About
Max Thomas provides on-set Motion Control Rigging and custom motion design for tabletop film productions.
Combining a film school background with a lifelong love of building and engineering, Max built his first turntable for his own video shoots. That experience led him down a rabbit hole of machine design and high-precision robotics. A decade later, with a suite of custom-built equipment, he works with many of the world’s most demanding brands to bring dynamic, memorable motion to their productions.
More than just providing equipment, Max works closely with directors before and during the shoot to translate the client’s vision into practical solutions on set. His love of creative problem-solving and endless appetite for technical detail drive his passion for the job.
Max resides in Sunnyside, Queens with his wife Kim and daughter Callie.
